the dog, the cat & Antigone

The news. A new dog in the white house. ...what can one say?
I can probably say it like this- I hope the dog have lots of good times, it definitely seems there is lots of space to run around.
Or what about- I offer to donate our neighborhood's bully cat to the White House as well. No donation required at all in return. An arranged pick up will be good enough. Now, this will be an act of kindness and generosity to all the cats in this area. They will actually be able to go out freely again and play. Or nap.
The stray cat have really turned into a moral question- what to do with this bully? and yet, whatever it have done we don't feel as calling the authorities and putting it to sleep as that is in most probability what will happens. The latest idea involves catching it and taking it to live in the mountains (Is it legal at all). Personally I like this plan. Will we be able to catch it and how remained to be seen though. Its hard to believe moving will traumatized the bully cat too much as it already arrived here from some where else not long ago (maybe someone have brought it here), and since then have terrorized all the cats population in the area.
one thing we have learnt for sure, house cats that goes for a stroll or a nap some where are not exactly wild any more. the name of the game is not survival for them, they are all about enjoying all the worlds; food at home and a nap in the sun somewhere, an occasional little animal they catch and sleep on a pillow at home. The stray bully have brought here a different set of rules and is scaring all the cats indoors, either by their own choice or their people's choice. We don't let our cat out anymore and he doesn't like it at all, to say the least, but the wounds and the vet's bills are not a pretty sight.
Is it better to let the sweet home cat out to another probable battle or is it better to keep him safe, and stressed, at home. Is it better to call the city's authorities and have the bully removed, or is it better to try and catch him, either ask concerned organizations to find him a home or just take it to the mountains and back to the wild as apparently the bully cat is not cultured yet.
Having a cat is an individual choice, the problems even having a pet are of the political and moral spheres. It makes me wonder if there is an individual sphere left at all.
And- The white house new dog is definitely political and by the way, as cute as the new dog seems and as much as we are all sure the dog will have a great and free life, he doesn't attract the attention from the bizarre decisions of the white house in regards to human rights and democracy as a whole.
But- There is a new dog running freely and happily on the grass of the white house.
Yet- There is a soldier that was locked up today for many years because he have loved democracy and acted upon it. And that's talking of only one Antigone.
I can definitely recommend to the policy makers to take a break and read the book again.
